Exports to Philippines: Extension of PLS Inspection to All containerized Goods

Philippines

The Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC) will be extending the requirement for Load Port Survey (LPS) to containerised cargo. It is expected that this extension should be effective September 1, 2014.

At present, the LPS is only required for Bulk and Break Bulk Shipments under Customs Memorandum Order N° 18-2010. LPS reports must be submitted by surveyors 12 hours before arrival. The intended extension will require all containerised cargo to be mandatorily inspected.

Bureau Veritas is accredited by the Philippine Committee for Accreditation of Cargo Surveying Companies (CACSC) as a cargo surveyor to carry out the pre-shipment inspections and issue the LPS reports required by the BOC for clearance of goods.

We will update you as soon as the formal Customs Administrative Order is published. This new CAO is expected to cover both programs.

Please contact us to request an inspection for your Bulk & Break Bulk but also for containerized cargo.
