Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) reminds that importation and selling of used tyres is strictly prohibited in Tanzania.

Several TZS exist for tyres specification: TZS 617:2009, TZS 618:199 , TZS 1064:2008, TZS 1591:2013, 1592:2013...

TBS also reminds that tyres covered under these specifications shall not be more than eight (8) years from date of manufacture, whether used or not.
From January 06th, 2016, any trader found to contravene this rule shall be penalized for committing offence under the Standards Act No.2 of 2009.
