Any shipment of goods subject to PVoC (Pre-Export Verification of Conformity) Programme must be accompanied by a CoC upon arrival in Kenya.

Consignments arriving without CoC, or where a CoC is issued with a date later than the shipment arrival will automatically be deemed not to have followed the PVoC process. A penalty of 15% of CIF value would be charged to the importer, even if the goods have been inspected.

Exporters are recommended to ensure the CoC is ready before the goods arrive in Kenya.
To avoid delay in issuance of the Certificate, exporters are strongly encouraged to provide final documents (including information on gross weight) at the earliest possible step before shipping the goods.
